Laser Skin Treatments
IPL or Photo facial
As we age, brown spots, broken capillaries and wrinkles appear, a result of photo aging. These age related skin conditions are easy targets for laser systems that use broadband light to repair these defects. Additionally, facial wrinkles can now be treated non-ablatively, contributing to a more youthful appearance. Using relatively low-energy, short-pulse broadband light, imperfections such as erythema of rosacea, superficial telangiectasia, dyschromia, age spots and other discolored signs of photo aging can be gently heated and eliminated, replaced by newer, younger looking skin. Almost every area of the body can be treated; face, neck, chest, arms, legs, back and so on. These treatments are done typically in under one hour, it’s gentle with no downtime. In fact, these laser skin treatments for wrinkles and other signs of aging can be done during a lunch hour and no one will notice any sign of treatment, just a gradual improvement in the skin’s appearance.
Fractionated CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing
The signs of an aging face include lines, wrinkles, age spots and a downward drooping of facial features. Although having surgery can help to correct the positioning of aging tissue, it cannot restore the skin’s once youthful glow. For those patients with medium to deep wrinkling who wish to avoid surgical procedures but desire a youthful, refreshed skin tone, Fractional CO2 skin resurfacing is the ideal choice. Years ago, CO2 skin resurfacing fell out of favor due to the treatment’s long downtimes and risk of complications. Now with the Fractional CO2, you again see the fabulous results only available with CO2 but with a considerable reduction in downtime. With Fractional CO2, the average patient will only see about 3 to 5 days of minor downtime.
Fully Ablative CO2 Skin Resurfacing
With advances in laser technology, it is now possible to significantly improve aged or sun-damaged skin. Ablative laser skin resurfacing is one of the most effective cosmetic procedures for improving aging skin.
The procedure works by delivering an intense wavelength of light to the skin, which removes the outer layers of aged or sun damaged skin. In addition, the laser stimulates the underlying skin, resulting in collagen formation and an improvement in wrinkles. As the treated skin heals following the procedure, new skin forms that is smoother and tighter.
Ablative lasers are used to treat:
- Fine to moderate wrinkles
- Liver spots or age spots
- Uneven skin tone
- Sun-damaged skin
- Acne or chickenpox scars
It is important to note that laser resurfacing cannot remove deep wrinkles or excessive or sagging skin. In addition, the effects aren’t permanent because as you age, you continue to develop wrinkles. Repeated treatments may be necessary.
Laser Hair Removal
While there are many methods to eliminate unwanted hair, very few can eliminate hair regrowth while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged. And photo epilation is quickly becoming the most popular. Lasers and light sources use the principle of selective photothermolysis to eliminate hair and its potential regrowth without damaging the surrounding skin. During a laser hair removal treatment, light passes through the skin and is absorbed by the melanin in the hair shaft. This absorption raises the temperature of the hair follicle and thermally destroys the cells responsible for regrowth. The attributes of the light (wavelength, pulse duration and power) are chosen to ensure damage to these cells and not to the rest of the skin.
Clear + Brilliant
Clear + Brilliant is considered the most gentle of all resurfacing lasers. Clear + Brilliant resurfaces the skin by causing controlled mild micro-injury to its outermost layer. The results occur as the body heals itself, replacing the old, damaged skin cells with new cells and increasing collagen production for a slightly uplifted look. Clear + Brilliant is a non-ablative fractionated laser, which means it works in a gentler, less invasive manner than other kinds of lasers. While ablative lasers remove the top layer of the skin, non-ablative lasers heat the targeted tissue without destroying it. The fractionated laser creates tiny columns of thermal injury, called micro-thermal zones, among the unaffected skin. This combination means that the treated skin will sustain less damage and heal faster than with other kinds of lasers.
ClearLift is a major advancement in skin-rejuvenating laser treatments, and it effectively refreshes the skin and smoothes out fine lines and wrinkles in fast, comfortable sessions that leave no lingering redness and require no downtime. ClearLift works by remodeling the interior layers of skin, leaving your epidermis intact and allowing healing to occur from the inside out. Although visible improvement may be noticeable after a single treatment, patients generally require three to five treatments for optimal results.
ClearLift is designed to tighten skin and smoothen lines and wrinkles around the eyes, mouth, neck and chest to restore a youthful, healthy looking appearance. Specifically, ClearLift can treat cosmetic conditions including:
SculpSure Laser Body Contouring
